We are pleased to introduce you to Woes, a complete newcomer to the Asian indie scene from Singapore, with their debut LP ZOODREAMS + WAKE UP PLS.

Based in sunny Singapore, Woes is an Indie/Math rock band in 5 pieces. What started as a solo project by Russell Seow (bass) evolved into a fully-fledged band with the addition of Raizel Gonzales (Vocals), Alex Calaunan (guitars), Aloysius Au (guitars), and Khoo Shen En (drums).

With dance-like rhythms and uplifting yet sorrowful melodies, Woes takes inspiration from bands like Elephant Gym, Jyocho, and American Football, while creating their unique flavor and sound.

Weaving intricate twinkly guitar lines over solid dance-like bass riffs and melancholic vocals, Woes uses their music as a channel to reminisce and express everybody's daily life struggles.

In the EP ZOODREAMS released last year, jazz, math rock, and indie rock were mixed in an exquisite balance, and the songwriting has dramatically evolved. The tight backing, the melancholy vocals, and, after all, the genreless arrangement shines with a sense.

After ZOODREAMS, Woes strives to expand their sound and create more melancholic music with their second EP WAKE UP PLS in May 2020. Woes breathe new life into the indie and math rock scene in Singapore, giving their take on the genres.

Their debut LP, ZOODREAMS + WAKE UP PLS, will be released in Japan and Taiwan by BIG ROMANTIC RECORDS, in conjunction with COLD PRESS RECORDS, POPKISS PUNK, and WAITT RECORDS.
